Scratch<\/a> is a visual programming language developed by MIT to teach children basic computer science and programming principles by snapping together lego-like blocks of code.<\/p>\n

I have been teaching Scratch to children for about 3 years.<\/p>\n

In June 2013, I am participating in the 6 week\u00a0Creative Computing<\/a>\u00a0online workshop on teaching with Scratch.<\/p>\n

What is Scratch?<\/h1>\n

Scratch is a programming language developed at MIT that allows children to easily explore computer programming and learn through experimentation.
\nWith scratch, children can create video games, explore math concepts, create animations and digital stories, and many other media projects.<\/p>\n
