How to Make a Paper Snowflake

What you need:

Scissors, paper, crayons to decorate, pencil

What to do:

  1. Get 1 sheet of letter sized paper.
  2. You need to make a square, so fold one corner so the sides match up and make a fold that goes diagonally from corner to corner.
  3. Cut off the extra paper.
  4. Now you will have a triangle.
  5. Fold your paper in half so that the folded edge lines up with the other folded edge.
  6. Fold your paper in half again so that the folded edges line up with the other folded edges.
  7. Draw a large triangle using the single folded edge as a base. It will make a V.

  8. Cut out the V.
  9. Draw triangles and rectangles along the other folded edges.
  10. Cut them out.
  11. Open up your snowflake.

*** Try making different shape patterns to make different snowflakes. Enjoy. ***

The Ice Dogs are still in the OHL playoffs. There is a possibility
for 5 fights in one OHL game. They fight hard. They played about
fifty-four games. Every player’s penalties put together equals 100
penalties.

Jack About The Beanstalk

Today we had a visit from the Big Kid Theatre Company. They presented a play called Jack About the Beanstalk, which talks about what happened to Jack and his family 20 years later.

The play taught us about the 5 B’s

  1. Be Respectful
  2. Be Responsible
  3. Be Kind
  4. Be Honest
  5. Be Accountable

After the play, one of the actors, Heather, visited our classroom. We gave her this letter:

Friday, December 10, 2004

Dear Alan, Heather, and Valerie:

Thank you for coming to HCES. We really liked the play. Ali liked the costumes because they were nice and funny. Alexander liked the pinata Golden Hen. Liam liked the glasses with the $DollarSigns$. Brennan really liked the way that you were acting. It was funny. How did Jack get his clothes back? How do you change your costumes so quickly? Why did you have to pay for your costumes and props?

From Mr. McGaughey’s Grade 2 class.
