* Popsicles and ice cream treats are available daily right at the end of nutrition breaks for 75c or $1.00.
Now that the weather is warming up, we can do more of our Daily Physical Activities (DPA) outdoors. Some days when the weather is warm and sunny we may walk to a nearby playground because we don’t have play equipment in our school yard. It is important that your child have closed toed shoes for safety during outdoor activities. If your child wears sandals to school, please ensure that they have a pair of running shoes at school.
Rounds Ranch Trip Tomorrow
Tomorrow we are going to Round’s Ranch.
Things to Remember:
- Bus leaves Bayview School at 9am and returns by 3:10pm.
- Bring Lunch, snack and an extra drink.
- Dress for the farm. NO SANDALS. Runnings, a hat, sunscreen and appropriate outerwear for the weather (example if it is rainy, we’ll need rainwear). There are some indoor activities but we will be both in and outdoors whatever the weather.
Safety at Rounds Ranch:
Stay with your adult supervisor. Stick with your buddies.
Stay away from Farm Machinery and Animals unless you have been given permission.
Listen to the teachers and the Farm workers (the first time).
Schedule at the beginning of the day:
8:50 Bell Rings- Come into school-do not change clothes and shoes.
Get name tag.
Go to washroom with the whole class.
9am Get on Bus.
All day at Round’s Ranch
3:10 pm Come back from Round’s Ranch.
Ted Harrison Artwork
We made pictures in the style of Ted Harrision. He is a famous painter. You can see his paintings at www.tedharrison.com. Here is a picture of him and one of his paintings.
His style is very unique. He uses lots of squiggly lines on his paintings. His paintings show things he has done before like sailing and living in the Artic. Here are our pictures.

Skating Field Trips are on: February 22, 29 and March 7: 9am-10:45 am:
Bring Hat gloves, skates and helmets. We will not be getting undressed
at the start of the school day. We will be taking attendance and going
on the bus. We would welcome parents joining us at the arena to help tie
skates and join us on the ice.
Some children have lost their black or green books (sometimes more than
once). It is a lot of work to replace them. If your child has lost their
green book, black book or mail bag, please send in a new green or black
duo-tang or mailbag as soon as possible. Daily reading at home is an
important part of learning to read. We have 2 reading books that go
home: The Black Fast Start book on weeknights and the Green Song Book on
weekends. We also use these books in class so if your child does not
have them on in class they have to share with others.
